Pokemon GO fans are facing a weird issue where they are not able to receive candy for placing their Pokemon at a Power Spot, removing one of the most important bonuses one can get from these special locations. Power Spots were added as part of the recently introduced Dynamax feature in Pokemon GO, and they are pretty much the equivalent of Gyms for Dynamax Pokemon.

The Dynamax feature has been the subject of rumors for a long time now, and Niantic finally debuted it as part of the Max Out season in Pokemon GO. The mechanic had already been met with a mixed reception from the community at launch, and now it seems like a weird bug has added to the woes of players.

In a new post on the Silph Road subreddit, user Clarita8 highlights a frustrating bug that has been affecting the game after Pokemon GO’s Dynamax update. Apparently, users are not getting the candy bonus for placing their Pokemon at Power Spots. The user mentions that they tried restarting and reinstalling the game, and even using different Pokemon, but to no avail. They even tried contacting Niantic support, but that doesn’t seem to have worked either.

Similar to regular Gyms, players can place Pokemon at Power Spots in Pokemon GO. This is a widely used mechanic since placing a Pokemon at a Power Spot ensures that players can earn some candy for the Pokemon. Whenever a player places a Pokemon at a Power Spot, that Pokemon will assist other trainers in fighting the Dynamax Pokemon, and players will get rewards for each battle the Pokemon takes part in. Pokemon GO players are eagerly looking for candy in the game right now, considering that it is a requirement to level up Dynamax moves. However, as things stand, this feature seems to be not working correctly as several other players seem to be facing similar issues, according to comments in the Reddit post.
